OutlookFreeware.com Runtime and "OutlookFreeware Utility Manager" is the same program. Just different names.
Remove it and after that you will be able to install a new version.

Probably, other files were not EML or there were files in the destination folder with the same name already.
You can compare files in folders using commad line and/or some programs. There is also free program to do this. Probably, you will need to rename files in one folder first to match the extension and then compare.

We have no reports about such issue. It can be incompatibility with some other addins or concidence.
Try to download the latest version from our website and install without Outlook add-in enabled.
Will Outlook start normaly?
Will standalone app work?
You can also try to enable the add-in from Outlook after that without re-installation.

You can try to disable other add-ins and enable ours.

The utility tries to compare messageID if available.
You can select 'Use custom fields to compare'. Then the utility will use Subject, Message Text, Sender, Recipients and Attachments fields for comparision.
In the Advanced version of the utility, it is possible to select fields for compare.

You can use "Export Messages to EML Files" utility.
You can look a video on that page to find out how easy it is.
And it is fully FREE. Not like other software which is free only for some time and have limitation during this period.

In the Advanced version of the utility, this option allows you to select fields for compare.
In the OutlookFreeware.com version it uses predefined fields such as Subject, Message Text, Sender, Recipients and Attachments. With this option disabled the utility tries to compare messageID if available.
So, it it better to run the utility with this option disabled first. If you still can see duplicates then enable this option and run utility again. The program can find additional duplicates. Advanced version allows to select fields. This allows to find duplicates in more complex situations.
We are trying to make OutlookFreeware.com utilities more automate and easier to use by remove redundant options. But make advanced versions to solve any complex issues. We constantly add new video tutorials to out utilities for both OutlookFreware.com videos and advanced versions videos.

We have tested emlx convert under different OS and Outlook and it is working well. Please make sure that you have the latest version of the utility from the website. As we have added such option not so long time ago.

It has such possibility using Outlook 2007/2010 rules integration.

Are you using Exchange?
Is it an online mode?
Such behavior can occur when some packets are lost in the network (not stable Internet connection).
You can try to switch to cached mode. Then utility will work mostly with items cached in OST without network connection. Outlook will sync items with the server.
We can also try to help using logs from your side. Please contact the support via email.

What is your Outlook items type?
Try to create a folder and copy here 2 duplicates and run the utility. Will there be the error?
Can you please provide 2-3 samples of these duplicates? Just save them as .MSG using Outlook File -> Save As menu to some folder, pack it using ZIP or any other packer and send this archive to . We'll try to find the cause of the issue.
